How do I set up the phone?
Put the phone on a tripod or a stand above the board, tilted a little, so all 64 squares are in the frame and close enough. Use bright, even light and keep heads and hands out of the camera’s view between moves.
Why does the game have to start from the start position?
The app follows the game move by move, so it needs to know the starting point. Set up the pieces, then tap Play (▶).
The app missed a move or got one wrong. What do I do?
Recognition isn’t 100%: the camera angle, the light, a very fast game or a recognition mistake can cause it. Keep an eye on the digital board; if it is wrong, tap Take back and repeat the move on the board. Moving the camera higher or adding light helps most.
How do I broadcast a game on Lichess?
Tap the antenna, connect your Lichess account, then choose the tournament and round and enter the players. The broadcast starts with the game and ends at checkmate or when you tap Finish.
Where are my games?
In History (the clock button). Every game is kept on the phone with its players and result, and you can share it as PGN.
How do I remove the ads?
Any purchase in ··· menu → Support us turns the ads off for good — even one coffee. If you reinstalled the app or have a new phone, tap Restore Purchases on the same screen.
How do I cancel a subscription?
In iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Chessboard Cam. Ads stay off after you cancel.
How do I change my ad and privacy choices?
In the app: ··· menu → Privacy settings (shown where the law requires the choice). Tracking can be turned off in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. Details are in the privacy policy.
